Fagan Golden Brooks passed away March 25, 2016. She fought a valiant three-week battle against two deadly diseases: both viral and bacterial infections, which together could not be vanquished.
This beautiful, vibrant and spiritual woman radiated grace and compassion to all with whom she came in contact, family, friends and colleagues. She always wanted to touch hearts with people she only met once. Growing up as an only child until age 12, Fagan valued connections, welcoming the warmth and meaning of everyone’s presence. Her birth father, Joe Dotson, died when she was seven. Her mother married William Brooks and he adopted her at age 12, bringing three siblings into her family.
Fagan was a nurse, RN, BSN, working 26 years at IU Methodist Hospital, beginning in the cardiac critical care unit. At the time of her passing, she was Associate Administrator, supervising the logistical operations of the hospital. During her time at Methodist, she also earned a BS in Business.
Grateful and blessed to have had Fagan in our lives are her survivors: husband, Michael W. Golden; daughter Jasmyne (Adam Mestah) Monroe; sons, Lucas and Benjamin Luster; mother, Kay Brooks; brothers, Chris (Donna) and Drew (Sondra) Brooks; sister, Kate Palmer; uncle, Tom (Betsy) Epply; aunt, Barbara (Skip) Moore; step-children, Lindsay, Zachary and Nicholas Golden; father-in-law, William (Judy) Golden; and two beloved dogs, Bambino and Bella.
